Dental prosthesis
In addition to constructions placed on implants, dental clinics also offer other possibilities to replace the teeth that patients have lost.
If the visible part of a tooth (unique) is broken or strongly damaged, you can give the tooth an optimal aesthetic thanks to a crown. The crown is fixed and cemented on the tooth. For this, the tooth will be grown up. The technicians of dental clinics use for the manufacture of crowns either pure ceramics (for example aluminum oxide and other pure ceramic) or metalo ceramic equipment. The advantage of pure ceramics is in terms of aesthetics. It cannot be differentiated from the natural substance of the tooth. In the case of a ceramic metallo crown, the crown frame is made of metal and the external part is in ceramic.
In the event that several teeth in a row are missing, the bridge or "bridge" solution. The bridge is generally carried by the teeth on each side of the hole. These teeth (support pillars) are previously cut so that the bridge can be fixed there. The bridges consist either of pure ceramic or of metalo ceramic and are cemented on support pillars. A bridge can be successfully placed provided that there is enough dental substance at the level of pillars.
An alternative to crowns and bridges are removable constructions, for example the so-called telescopic prostheses. For a telescopic prosthesis, the teeth that will carry the prosthesis will be cut and covered with a metal "hat" (internal crown). This metal "hat" is cemented with cut teeth. The prosthesis itself consists of a metal chassis with crowns, which is placed on internal crowns (not cemented). The crowns are provided, in visible teeth, materials of the same color as the teeth.
In addition, there are the so-called "combined work" (combination of fixed prosthesis and removable prosthesis): on a fixed crown in metalo ceramic is mounted a removable construction with an element of invisible support.
